ePoleodomia: Geographic Information Systems for the Prefectural Administrations of the Country.
Among the most important applications in all development projects of every each country is the urban planning information management. In Map International we are proud of our participation in a project of national importance in Greece, concerning the electronic transition of archives of the urban planning authorities of the country in a digital and homogeneous platform.
The project involves the implementation of a Geographic Information System (GIS), which will provide the members of the Public Urban Planning Services and Application and citizens (private and engineers) valid, continually updated and quick information for the public geospatial and descriptive data. This system is expected to contribute to the better service and aims to make the operation of the service more effective, with the possibility of immediate provision of adequate and classified information about the rules and regulations of the current planning legislation and its spatial scope.
Map International within the project, created an IT e-Urban Planning system, resulting from the creation of a Spatial Urban Planning Data Base, up to the level of blocks for the areas within approved urban or town planning, in accordance with current planning legislation. In summary, the work on the creation of the spatial database included the digitizing of all available existing Urban Planning information, exceeding the 100,000 drawings and the 60,000 decisions.
